At the First National Bank of Port Allegany, we believe the confidentiality and protection of our customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities.  While information is critical to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets is our customers' trust.  Thus, the safekeeping of our customer information is a priority for The First National Bank of Port Allegany.   Visitors to the public web site of the First National Bank of Port Allegany remain anonymous.   The First National Bank does not collect identifying information about the visitors to our site.  The First National Bank uses standard software to collect some non-identifying information about our visitors, such as: 

  • The date and time our site was visited

  • IP address (a numeric address given to computers connected to the internet

  • the web browser used

  • your city, state & country 

The First National Bank  uses this information to create summary statistics.   Visitors may elect to provide their personal information via e-mail or online applications/inquiries.   This information is used internally, as appropriate to handle the sender's request.   After you are a customer of our e-banking site, our electronic banking system records your online session including the transactions you conduct online.   This enables us to process and confirm your transaction and also enables the banking application to provide you with automatic online reports.  To protect the confidentiality of the information submitted, the First National Bank uses secure socket layer (SSL) technology.   SSL technology establishes a "secure" Internet session.  A customer can tell whether a document comes from a secure server by looking at the location (URL) field.   If the URL begins with https: instead of http: the document comes from a secure server.   The First National Bank does not and will not sell or provide personal information to third parties for independent use.  We may however share personal information with business partners if that information is required to provide the product or service you have requested (for example, Check Free needs specific data to implement your electronic bill payments).
